Discipleship has a central position at Cumberland Baptist Church. We feel it is important to continue to grow as Christians, and to help our children to learn what it means to have Christ in your life. We have a range of programs to help you in your Christian walk.

Sunday Evenings are a time of preparation.
The Chapel Choir is rehearsing at 5:15-6:15 preparing for the Christmas program.
The youth praise team meets from 4:30-5:15 preparing for each week's The Awakening, and for leading once a month the Sunday morning contemporary service.
Youth Tech meets from 4:30-7:00. We are preparing a skit for presentation at The Awakening, and a skit for next month for the Sunday morning services. On the technology side we are working on a better way to video the Sunday morning services, and using a Slingbox to pipe the video of the service down to the nursery.

Wednesday Evenings begin with the church-wide dinner at 5:00. The preschool choir meets at 5:30, the children's choirs at 5:45. All choirs are currently working on their music for Christmas.

Senior Luncheon/Meeting for the month of November meeting (11-09), Don Lawson, Director of Career and Technology for Knox County Schools will present the program focusing on the new Dr. Paul L. Kelley Volunteer Academy. The academy is housed at East Town Mall and funded in part by the Simon Mall Foundation. This foundation has 5 other high schools located in their various malls including the Opryland Mall in Nashville. Don will have a slide presentation showing each area of the school.

The Gathering meets Tuesdays at 7:00 pm, and is always such a great time of fellowship, conversation, and God’s Word for young adults. You do not want to miss The Gathering!

Study - We have a number of opportunities for study of the Bible and of life application books.

The Women's Book Club is currently reading "A Time to Embrace" by Karen Kingsbury, the sequel to last month's book. The next meeting will be Friday December 10 at Kelly Eubanks' house at 6:00pm. All women are welcome! Please call the church office if you need directions.
