Worship at Cumberland Baptist Church
We have a number of opportunities for you to join with other Christians who want to worship their Lord.
Sermons in the worship services give a biblical message to learning.
Music styles range from Contemporary to Traditional. Some services emphasize prayer and Bible study.
Whatever your needs, Cumberland has a place for you.
Contemporary Worship at 8:40 am uses Christian Contemporary music to lead us into worship.
The services are led by Jacob Haywood who leads the youth praise team
and Leesa Daughtery who leads the adult praise teams. The words are available on the screen for congregational singing,
and the instruments are guitar, bass guitar, drum and keyboard.
The emphasis in this service is family worship, where parents with small children can come to worship together
as a family. There is a room in the back of the sanctuary for small children who need a break, letting the parents
still be a part of worship. There is a children's sermon for children up through elementary school to have a
special time to receive a message just for them.
Traditional Worship at 10:40 am is led by Steve with Carolyn on the piano and Karen
who bring treasured hymns for congregational singing.
The Chapel Choir brings the morning anthem, and the senior choir occasionally fills in.
There is a children's sermon for children up through elementary school to have a
special time to receive a message just for them. Pastor Kerry brings the morning message of Biblical teaching
and interpretation for Chrisian living.
Sunday Evening Worship at 6:30 pm is led by Steve with congregational hymns, and an instrumental interlude by Carolyn or Karen. Pastor Kerry brings a message drawn from Biblical study. The third Sunday of the month is our monthly business meeting, and the fifth Sunday of the month is a time of singing by anyone who would like to worship with their voices or with an instrument.
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting at 6:30 pm is a time of prayer for the needs of our
congregation, community and world; and Bible study to learn more about God through His Word.
The Awakening at 6:30 pm on Wednesday nights is a time of fun, fellowship, singing,
and worship for youth and young adults. The worship is led by the Youth Praise Team including guitars and drums. This is
an awesome time for being with other seekers to learn more about themselves and about God.
